The big week is here! Halloween is only a few days away. In the spirit of the season, the rest of this week's posts will be crafty ways to help you celebrate the holiday. Today: inspiration for your pumpkin.
This pumpkin from Sweet Paul was inspired by his vintage Louis Vuitton luggage. He used an oil-based sharpie to draw the design and finished it off by tying a real baggage tag around the stem. I'm absolutely loving his ingenuity. Keep an eye on his blog this week; he's featuring a different pumpkin design every day.
These carveless pumpkins, found at Twig & Thistle's blog, are absolutely adorable. And guaranteed to be unique. How perfect is the spider web one? That pumpkin was made for it.
If you're looking for some fresh inspiration and a little assistance in carving your pumpkin this year, check out Zombie Pumpkins. They have galleries of carved pumpkins and free patterns to help you turn your gourd into the talk of the neighborhood.
If you've already carved a pumpkin and have a picture to share, leave a link in the comments. I'd love to see what everyone else has come up with!

How appropriate! Ellie's preschool today was a field trip to the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin! All seven 4-year olds came back to my house to paint them up (an excellent alternative to giving preschooler's knives). To make them more festive, I gave the kids "Spooky Paint," aka Glow-in-the-dark paint, to create kiddie-made jack-o-lanterns (we're also doing the letter J, the color orange, and the shape triangle in preschool this week. Perfect, right?) It was a blast! Thanks for the pumpkin inspiration!

Fantastic! I bet she had a blast! I can't wait to hear what she's being for Halloween this year...and Carter, too.
