bicycle cravings

I'm sure it's the spring weather (because this happens every year) but I'm totally craving a bicycle right now.  When I was young I would spend all afternoon riding my bike around the neighborhood, staying out until the street lights came on and I was expected back home.  It was definitely a favorite activity.  But since I left home eight years ago I haven't had a bike.  And every spring and fall I miss it!

My tastes have evolved a bit since the time of the purple and green painted bike with the colorful plastic balls on the spokes.  Something stylish and sophisticated like this is irresistible.  Especially with the basket.

In reality, if I were to buy a bike now it would be much more practical to go with this model.  For obvious reasons, right?  There are always little people or bags of things to tote around.

But maybe I'll wait a few years and go with the white bike with the basket.  Then the little one can follow along on his own bike with colorful paint and plastic accessories.

Would you ever buy a cargo bike?  Would it fit in to your lifestyle well?

That red bike is so awesome! I think I might tweak my lifestyle so it fits with the bike rather than the other way around!
