Well, my dears, its been another lovely week. The next few weeks have a busy forecast for me with a few projects I'll be working on. I'm looking forward to doing some canning this weekend while I still have a chance. I just bought a new book, Canning for a New Generation, and I love everything about it so far.
Its full of old favorites, plenty of information for a beginner like me, and new recipes I'm anxious to try out. I can't wait to get into it this weekend. Do you like to can things? Do you have any recipes I ought to try?
I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you, too. Here are some of my favorite links from this past week for you to peruse over the next few days.
- The Future of the Book
- What I would give to be sitting in this chair right now
- How to open a new book...the paper kind
- Some truths
- Homemade basil pesto that looks divine
Enjoy yourselves and remember to do something you love. See you on Monday!

I was planning on jumping into canning this season. We started a large garden, however it did not produce as much as anticipated. :) We may have been able to do tomatoes, however I just froze them instead. I am so nervous to give it a try, that I will miss an improper seal and get my whole family sick! Perhaps if I was just armed with enough knowledge it would give me the courage. Thank you for the book recommendation, I'd love to hear an update.
