Hello, hello, my dears. How are you today? How was your weekend? Did you have a fun Halloween? Ours was rainy and wet, but, happily, our boy is still young enough to be satisfied with a small pile of candy so a short trick-or-treating spell was just right for him. He's now reveling in the fact that he has a bowl of candy that belongs to no one but him; he even passes on the home-baked treats in favor of his stash. Do your kids love candy as much as mine does?
Over the weekend I also happened to find some amazing deals in the local classifieds: 3 Schoolhouse Electric light fixtures for $100 and two gorgeous tufted chairs for $20 a piece. I've ordered fabric and will be recovering the chairs. I'm completely in love with them; I can't wait to get started and show you the finished product.
All of this making old new again has made me start a serious hunt for great finds to make our home prettier. So, of course, I'm loving new-to-me vintage shop, Johnny Vintage. So many great pieces to spice up your home decor.
Isn't the map book great? As well as these other maps that are also in the shop.
Have you scored any amazing finds lately? Or refinished a piece to bring back its former glory?

What great finds! I can't wait to see what you do with it :) I've realized finding vintage things and re-vamping them is one of my new favorite things. Of course we don't have much space to do it now, but it gets me excited. I've been searching for a headboard to do the same thing with. Someday we'll have to go vintage shopping together!

Just this weekend, we found 2 dressers at a office liquidation sale - completely unfinished pine, ready to be put together. One was $24, the other $30. I didn't want the mirror that went with it, but they threw it in anyways! Score! We've now got our Thanksgiving Break project! (The $5 original nintendo with duck hunt and gun that we also bought could almost pay for the dressers - it's going on ebay for $50!)
