...I would decorate it just like this. I think simplicity is the best way to go when it comes to Christmas decorations. And I love the look of fresh evergreen boughs.
Unfortunately, we're plum out of fireplaces at our house so we'll be dressing the front door up with a live wreath instead. We're still brianstorming where exactly to hang our stockings. Where do you hang your stockings if you don't have a mantle? If you do have one, what's your favorite way to make it festive?

At my parent's house just outside of Vegas sans Fireplace (big surprise!) everyone gets a chair or a side of a couch. Stockings are a huge thing for our family - the part we all look forward too. The spots were assigned years ago - so we all know where to put our stocking Christmas Eve. Even though we don't get to hang them or have them as decorations before Christmas - I must say the "restrictionlessness" of having them hanging allows for bigger and many more presents. ;)

I made a cute Stocking board at a RS Craft Night...It says in vinyl lettering "the Stockings were hung..." and it has pegs for the stockings. It is perfect for us!

I have seen stockings hung from the ceiling before. Or you could fashion some kind of wall hanging for them. I know you will figure out something cute so I want an update on where you decide.
