A Secret Garden

I like to think that our backyard will someday be a kind of secret garden.  The busy road outside, the old sometimes not-so-loved homes all lead you to think that our house, too, will just be mediocre.  But then, you'll push back the wooden gate, step inside and see something along the lines of this:

Or so I dream!  It will take a few years to get to this point, but once I have the picture in my head, it's almost as if it already exists.  Having a visual in my mind like that is such a motivator during all the dirty work and long hours it takes to make dreams reality.  

What things do you have floating about inside your head that you're looking forward to accomplishing?  Once you have a dream, is it there to stay?

Spoon Oil

Hello, my dears!  How was your weekend?  Mine was fantastic. Friday afternoon Craig took me on a trip up to Park City to stay at the breathtaking Waldorf Astoria for my birthday.  It was beyond beautiful.  We ate great food, did some shopping and got to sleep in (our 7am alarm clock was at home with his auntie)!  I have the best husband.  The rest of the weekend was relaxed with conference to listen to and plenty of homemade cinnamon rolls to eat.   

Such a fabulous weekend has left me feeling re-energized and ready to get things done this week.  Perhaps this DIY project for homemade spoon oil will make it on to the to-do list?  I'm at least going to start gathering supplies, because my bowls, spoons and cutting boards are in need of some TLC.  

 Also, have you been over to Harriot Grace lately to check out their beautiful offerings?  So many gorgeous wooden treasures.  I'm in love with this cake stand...and the cake that's on top of it!
